Light Takes Away Darkness
The people living in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.Matthew 4:16
In the Bible Light represents the goodness of God and Darkness represents evil of Satan, and when Jesus was on the earth, He was the Light of the world. Christians are now the Light of the world.
This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. (1 John 1:5) God is perfect Light because there is never any sin with God. We are not perfect and it helps us to understand people who don’t know Christ.
Always remember that light always takes away darkness, but darkness can never take away light. We are now the light of Christ, and our light shines and we overcome the darkness of sin from Satan. As Satan is turning the world against Christ with his lies and deceptions, we fight his evil ways with the power of God’s love and care. We love everyone on the planet, but hate the deception that comes from Satan. The more love we have for people, the more we hate the sin that comes from Satan.
God protects us from the evil one, and we are never tempted by the devil beyond what we can bear, and the Lord will provide an escape. However, we can be influenced by the darkness of sin because it appeals to our fleshly desires. Satan is always trying to bring darkness into our soul, but we fight with the divine power of Christ. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; (2 Corinthians 10:5) We live by this verse by capturing every sinful thought, and through the power of Christ we can change the thought.
You, Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light. (Psalm 18:28) Every evening we pray that the Lord turns off any darkness in our life, and that He turns it into light. We ask the Lord to be our judge for any darkness in our life, because He know us better than we know ourselves.
Even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day, for darkness is as light with you. (Psalm 139:12) Whenever we are tempted by darkness, we respond my taking the darkness away by the Light of God within us. This process can become natural whenever our thoughts are leaning toward darkness, the light destroys the darkness.
Today be filled with the light of God, and refuse to let Satan’s darkness dim the light. Fight the spiritual war with power of Christ and live in victory.
Prayer: Father, I pray that all people will see the light within me.; and keep Satan’s temptations of darkness away. In Jesus name, Amen
