Light of the World

Posted on

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.

Matthew 5:14

We view the narrow road with the Light of God at the end of the road guiding us down the narrow road to Heaven. We always walk toward the Light, and that makes us the Light. Jesus was the Light of the world, now Christ lives in us and we are the Light of the world. Our Light is on a hill, which means we reflect Christ to everyone, and Christ lives in us enabling us to minister to the world.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20) The challenge of letting Christ guide us is that we maintain the Light of Christ. We depend on Christ to guide us to be a Light and minister to people about eternal life. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5) Christ is the Light in us, and He enables us to bear fruit.

Satan tempts us to depend on ourselves and tries to kill the Light in us. Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! (1 Chronicles 16:11) If we truly depend on the Lord, he will send his strength and his wisdom to us, and will be a Light. The advantage of depending on Christ is that Christ knows the heart of the people we are ministering.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10) If we seek to remain in Christ, he will always be with us and give his strength and help us to be a Light in this world.

Today be a Light for Christ and walk with Christ. Develop an attitude of thankfulness that Christ and his perfect love will enable you to be a Light on a hill.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for living in me through the Spirit and guiding me through life being a Light. In Jesus’ name, Amen
