Life Through the Spirit

Posted on

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

Colossians 3:2

The Lord tells us to think on things above and not on earthly things. We do our earthly tasks through the power of God, seeking his guidance and help in everything we do. All our thoughts go through the Spirit, then everything we do is from divine power above.

Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. (Romans 8:5) Our life is guided by the Spirit, and when we do everything through the Spirit, we will be reflecting Christ.

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6) When we are governed by the Spirit, we will experience divine peace from God. We can be guided by the Spirit in everything we do in life, especially when we ask. Our faith is pleasing to God when we depend on Christ being with us all times, to guide us and help us.

The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. (Romans 8:7-8) If our minds are governed by our flesh, then we are guided by self. We can be guided by our flesh in things that are good and in things that are sinful; but it’s not the same as being guided by the Spirit. When we are guided by the Spirit, we are guided by Christ. The difference is, are we guided by Christ or are guided by self.

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. (Romans 8:14) We are children of God when we are guided by Christ through the Spirit. The more we ask the Spirit to guide us through the day, the more it will become natural to depend on the Lord for everything in life. Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. (Matthew 7:7) Asking the Lord to guide our life, shows our dependence on Him, which reveals our faith.

Today live through the Spirit in everything you do, because you will reflect Christ; and pray for the Lord to open doors so you can tell someone about salvation through Christ.

Prayer: Lord help me to live through the Spirit, by interfacing to the world through the Spirit. In Jesus name, Amen
