Life with Patience and Purpose

Posted on

Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

Matthew 11:28-30

I was reading the four Gospels and taking a close look at Jesus’ pace and his words. I asked the Lord to help me to live each day as Jesus lived — seeking to serve the Lord with rest for my soul. After much prayer, He revealed to me a life of patience and purpose, which is how Jesus lived.

The Lord revealed this to me about two days ago, and I have been praying that my heart will learn to live each moment aware of my divine purpose and to live each moment with patience. Satan is very active in preventing me from having patience and purpose, so much prayer is needed. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13)

I cannot achieve patience and purpose in my heart without the power of God. Therefore I will strive to have patience and purpose, and I will pray for the Lord’s help and I know it will happen through his love and power. Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26) This verse is important because sometimes we may not even try because we know we cannot achieve the goal, but remember it is God who enables us to achieve victory. We must rely on God and not on ourselves.

Living a life with patience and purpose will bring rest for our souls. Living with patience brings comfort and living with divine purpose supports patience. Living life with divine purpose, serving the Lord brings life to its fullest because that is what we were created to do. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) Patience is needed to live with purpose, and purpose supports patience, and together they bring divine meaning to our life and rest for our souls. If we commune with the Lord as we fulfill our divine purpose, he adds more love, peace, and joy to our hearts.

Today walk fulfilling your purpose and seek the rest for your soul as you walk with patience. This is how Jesus lived his days and it is how we should live our days, with rest for our souls and with our hearts filled with love, peace, and joy.

Prayer: Lord, help me to live today with patience and with divine purpose. Guide me in the Spirit to fulfill your purpose, to have the patience to see the world through your eyes. In Jesus name, Amen
