Life is Spiritual Growth

Posted on

But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity.

2 Peter 3:18

Spiritual growth is part of a Christian’s life, because God is continually molding us to conform to the image of His Son to our last breath. We are not perfect therefore it is life-long task to spiritual grow and become more like Christ. Satan is always tempting us and we continually become stronger spiritual warriors, because Satan never gives up on pulling away from God.

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:29) We spiritly grow by serving the Lord, and we do this by following the Holy Spirit. God changes our heart to the heart of Christ, and for the first time we really see ourselves as God created us to be. The more we serve Christ the more we read and study the Word, because it is the language of God. We also pray more because we need the Lord with us at all times, because we reflect the mind and heart of Christ.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) When we live the way we are created, guided by the Holy Spirit, we are living life to the full, and we are spiritually growing closer to Christ. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (Galatians 5:1) When we serve the Lord we spiritually grow, we live life to the full, and Christ sets us free.

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22) We continually spiritually grow by reading and obeying the Word. We become a light for Christ in this world, pointing people to Christ, and God fills our hearts with his unconditional love. And the more we serve the Lord, the more love God pours into our hearts, and this is our motivation to spiritual grow. We can forever learn from the Word, but if we don’t do what it says; will it ever go to our hearts; after all we live out of our hearts. Like everything in life is only useful, when we learn and put it into practice.

What happens if we stop spiritually growing; we can become complacent in our present position, and we are minimally motivated to ask God to open doors for us to minister to people. Therefore, for this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. (2 Peter 1:5-8) With a heart filled with God’s love in our hearts, motivates us to bring people to Christ, because we hurt for lost souls.

Today seek to spiritually grow by becoming more dependent on Christ. Pray for guidance by the Spirit and you will learn God’s ways and God’s timing, as you see life more from God’s perspective and less from the worldly perspective.

Prayer: Lord, help me to see every situation from your perspective, because the more I can see life from the spiritual view the more I can understand your ways and your divine wisdom.  In Jesus name, Amen
