Let’s Examine Our Priorities

Posted on

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.

Colossians 3:23-24

One of Satan’s primary goals is for Christians is to share their priority between God and themselves. It can be difficult to do everything as doing it for Christ, with be aware we are doing it for Christ in both our conscious and sub-conscious minds.

An example of having our priority always serving Christ, is given by this quote from The Pursuit of God, by A. W. Tozer, page 89. “Many have found the secret of which I speak and, without giving much thought to what is going on within them, constantly practice this habit of inwardly gazing upon God. They know that something inside their hearts sees God.  Even when they are compelled to withdraw their conscious attention in order to engage in earthly affairs, there is within them a secret communion always going on. Let their attention but be released for a moment from necessary business and it flies at once to God again. This has been the testimony of many Christians.”

Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26) The verses above have been attained by many Christians because the Spirit guides both our conscious and subconscious minds. When our conscious mind has the desire and habit of remaining connected to Christ through the Spirit, we will remain connected to Christ even when we are consciously doing earthly tasks.  I am sure many Christians have experienced this because their hearts are always connected to God. Always pray for the Lord’s help in being close to him in thoughts and actions.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2) If we seek to control our thoughts on things above, it will become a habit through the power of God. God will make our conscious mind and subconscious mind to always be connected on things above, and we will minister to the world from the Kingdom. Jesus answered, “God’s kingdom is coming, but not in a way that you will be able to see with your eyes. People will not say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ because God’s kingdom is within you. (Luke 17:20-21)

If we strive to stay connected to God, and we pray for God’s divine power to make it happen, then it will happen. There is great peace when Christ is our priority and we are living in the Kingdom within us, because this is the way God created us to live.

Today keep your thoughts on things above, even when doing earthly things because our thoughts will move into your subconscious mind. Then in back of our minds we will have a secret communication going on with Christ.

Prayer:  Lord help me to always give you priority, and to live in the Kingdom that is within me. In Jesus name, Amen
