Let Your Light Guide Others
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.Matthew 5:16
I believe the most powerful witness we can make to others is the Godly life we live. If we complain or fearful, how can we be a light to others? Christians reflect Christ to others, because we are filled with hope, love, peace, and joy. We do not walk in Satan’s fears. We treat others with respect and with the desire to be with them, and we seek to lift up everyone.
When people see that we are always upbeat and reflect Christ no matter what is going on in our life, it can be very impressive to people, especially if they know any difficulties in our life. But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, (1 Peter 3:15) Always walk with hope in Christ regardless of what maybe happening in your life. We reflect our faith in the Lord and our certainty of eternal life.
Whoever claims to live in him must live as Jesus did. (1 John 2:6) When people see Christ in us, it is a powerful witness because people are watching to see if we are living what we teach. When we walk with the Lord we hold ourselves accountable to him, and we hold ourselves accountable to everyone. We are to reflect Christ to others, not only when teaching but in our everyday life example.
If we are not living the Christian life when we are alone, not holding ourselves accountable to God, then sin will compromise our ministry to others. We are never alone because the Spirit is in us and the Father and the Son have made their home with us. Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them”. (John 14:23) We are to do our best to be Christ-like twenty-four hours every day.
Today, be consciously aware of reflecting Christ in your work, driving, while interfacing with people, and any other time. Let Christ-like behavior become natural and pleasurable. Life to the full comes from serving the Lord and being Christ-like showing others the life to the full that only comes from Christ.
Prayer: Guide me through the Spirit to be Christ-like throughout this day, in everything I do, say, and think. Give me your power to overcome fear, anger, or defensive behavior. Help me to show my identity and security in you. In Jesus’ name, Amen
