Knowing Christ

Posted on

Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith.

Philippians 3:8-9

The apostle Paul had a close loving relationship with Christ, and he considered everything rubbish compared to knowing Christ. The greatest thing in life is knowing Christ, because Christ is the only one who can satisfy us by continually sending his blessings into our soul. That is why the apostle Paul was content in all circumstances.

When we read and obey the Word, we will build a loving relationship with Christ. Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7) When we serve Christ, our hearts get filled with God’s unconditional agape love, then we better understand the Lord’s ways and emotions; because God is love.

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:4-5) We serve Christ by telling people about salvation in Christ, and from the above verse we can do nothing without Christ. We always need Christ with us to be light in this world.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2) We live in this world but we don’t conform to the pattern of this sinful, and our minds are always connected to Christ, which means we interface to the world through the Spirit. Our thoughts are closer to Christ than they are to the World. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (Colossians 3:23-24) If live this verse we will always be connected to Christ and we will know Christ.

Today read the Word, pray, and do everything as doing it for Christ. Knowing Christ is and ongoing process till our last breath.

Prayer:  Father guide me to know Christ more every day, and guide me to put Christ’s will over my will.  In Jesus name, Amen
