Know the Lord

Posted on

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

1 John 4:7

The more we know the Lord the closer relationship we will have with Him.  Christ provides everything we need in this life which includes spiritual blessings that continuously feed our soul.  And Christ is always with us guiding us through the Spirit; and his love for us is more than we can imagine.

That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, (Philippians 3:10) The apostle Paul new Christ and he was willing share in his sufferings to know Him more. The closer we are to Christ the closer we desire to be, that is the addiction we are created to have.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) Life to the full mean nothing is missing; and Christ provides spiritual blessings with fullness of love, peace, and joy; that continuously feeds our soul. Divine blessings from Heaven are more fulfilling than any temporary thing from the world. The greatest blessing we receive from Christ is eternal life, being with the Father and the Son forever.

The greatest thing in life is being close to the Lord and living to serve him, and that is because we are created in his image and God’s divine plan is for us to be with Christ in Heaven forever. The closer we are to Christ the more our soul lives in the kingdom with Christ.  Jesus answered, “God’s kingdom is coming, but not in a way that you will be able to see with your eyes. People will not say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ because God’s kingdom is within you.” (Luke 17:20-21) The Kingdom is within us, and if our thoughts are on things above, our soul is living in the Kingdom.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2) Our soul goes where our thoughts go, and if our thoughts, both in our conscience and sub-conscience mind, and this will keep us in the Kingdom. With our soul in the kingdom, we are closer to Christ, and he will draw closer to us.

The more we serve the Lord by following the Spirit, the more love God puts into our hearts; and love enables us understand the Lord and draws us closer to him with a dependent heart.

Today seek be closer to the Lord, through prayer and serving Him. The more we know Christ the better our life becomes.

Prayer:   Lord guide me in the Spirit so I will always depend on you, and fill my heart with your divine love so I can know you more each day as I live to serve you. In Jesus name, Amen
