Know God’s Word

Posted on

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. (Matthew 7:13-14) The many souls that live on the broad road are those who don’t know God’s Word, or they decide not to believe the Word.  Satan’s goal is to keep people from reading the Word. Some excuses he feeds people are; I am too busy, the Word is to complicated, I will live as a slave, the Bible is to many words, and the list continues. These are some of the lies from Satan that people believe, and our task is to bring them the Truth.

It is important to have scriptures in our mind, or better yet have a handout to give people, showing the steps to salvation. This will overcome the task of thinking they need to read the whole Bible to be saved. A hand out showing the steps of Salvation, and scriptures to overcome the lies that people believe from Satan, can be very helpful in our ministry. Always write out the scripture – giving book, chapter, and verse; because some people don’t have a Bible, but we can give them a Bible along with the handout.

An example of the steps to be in God’s family are given in the scriptures below. There are also plenty of other scriptures that can also be used.

I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6)

Believe Jesus is the Son of God – Luke 1:26-38, John 3:16, Luke 9:28-36

Jesus died for our sins – Romans 5:8, Romans 5:10, Romans 3:23

Sends us the Holy Spirit – John 14:16-17,

Forgives us of our sins – 1 John 1:9

Presents us to Father as perfect – Romans 8:34

It is important to know the Word and be prepared, because we never know where the Spirit will lead us. The power of our witnessing is in the Word, therefore everything we say must be backed up by the Word if God.

Today be prepared to be a witness for Christ, with a handout, and a Bible. But be aware that in some parts of the world having Bible or a handout can mean imprisonment or death. If that is the case have the Word in your mind and heart, and pray for the person.

Prayer:  Lord guide me to bring Christ to others. And help me to know the Word to direct others to the narrow road of life. In Jesus name, Amen
