Know God’s Word
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.
2 Timothy 6:19
God’s Word is the language of God and is needed to follow the Spirit, and for bringing God’s Truth to people. People who don’t know the Word are deceived by Satan and believe his lies. The more we know the Word, the more we can help people to overcome Satan’s lies.
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. (1 John 4:16) If how hearts are filled with God’s love, we are closer to the Lord, and we understand the Word at a deeper level. Love helps us to know the Father and the Son’s emotions, as we read the Word. It is a great advantage when our emotions and feelings agree with Jesus as we read the Word.
Reading and studying the Word is important because we minister with the Word to overcome Satan’s lies that people believe. So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:31-32) We overcome Satan’s lies with the Truth from God’s Word, and we tell them that Christ will set them free.
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22) We can thoroughly know scripture, but it is little use unless we obey the Word. The Lord changes us as we bring the Word to people, by filling our hearts with His love; and it’s love that motivates us to bring the Truth to lost souls. We minister to the lost world, and we get a deeper understanding of Jesus and his ministry, because it is Christ in us who guides us in our ministry.
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) Telling people how Christ sets us free is how we tell people that true freedom only comes from Christ. Independent of where we live in this world, we can be free in Christ, because we know Heaven is our home. We are either free in Christ or we are a slave to the sinful world.
In our ministry we always use the Word; if someone is believing Satan’s lies, we always give the Truth from scripture. The power comes from the Word of God, followed by our experience.
Today make a schedule to read and study the Word because is the foundation of the Christians life, and know scriptures that overcome Satan’s lies
Prayer: Lord guide me in the Word every day, and to obey the Word through your guidance. And help me to know scriptures to overcome Satan’s lies that people believe. In Jesus name, Amen.
