Know God’s Love

Posted on

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

Mark 12:30-31

As we continue telling people about Christ and teaching the Word, God pours his divine love into our hearts. The reason he does this is so we will have unconditional love for all people, and love motivates us to bring the truth to lost souls.

We know in our minds the love the Father and the Son have for us, but this love goes to our hearts as we show God’s love to others. The more of God’s love we have in our hearts, the more we know how much God loves us.  And God wants us to reflect his unconditional love to everyone.

Think deeply about the Father’s plan to save us, even though we were sinners. Only God could pay the price for our sins, because there was no way we could save ourselves. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) Christ left Heaven to live on earth, and he never did a miracle for himself because he wanted to experience our life. He died for our sins, he was flogged, and nailed to the cross; but he never said an angry word. He willingly went to the cross because of the divine love the Father and the Son have for us.

When we bring Christ’s love to others, God’s love goes from our minds to our hearts, and we will experience God’s love.  And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. (Romans 8:28) This verse is a powerful promise of God that can bring joy to us. God will work all things for our good, if we trust him fully and serve Christ as our life. This verse shows God’s love as he carries us through life into Heaven.

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. (John 1:12) It’s great blessing to be in God’s family, and we have perfect Father where all things are possible. The Father protects us from the evil one and we will never be tempted beyond what we can escape. The Father and the Son have given us everything we need to travel down the narrow road, guided by Christ into Heaven. The love of God is so powerful that he sent his Son to pay the price for our sins, in order that Heaven can be our home.

Today I will remember your perfect love and Christ’s perfect guidance, and with a thankful heart.

Prayer: Father, help me to always know your divine love and to bring your love to others. In Jesus name, Amen
