Know God and Give Him the Glory

Posted on

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31

If we really know God, we will always give him the glory. But do we really know God, his perfect love, his power, he can do all things, he designed all things and spoke it into existence, he is sovereign over all things, and he is his all-knowing. God has no limitations except he cannot sin, he is pure light with no darkness.

The more we truly understand who God is, the more strength and confidence we will have. To fully understand God, we need to meditate on scriptures that describe his attributes, and pray he reveals his power in our hearts. And we can know the power of the Father through the life of Jesus.

Below is description of the Lord’s attributes.

God Is Immutable:  God never changes and his Word never changes because perfection has no need of change. However, man is the same yesterday today, and tomorrow. Technology changes but man never changes. The only thing stable in life, is God.

God Is Self-Sufficient:  God needs nothing however God is love, and he created us to be with him in Heaven forever to receive his perfect blessings. God’s love for us is more than we can imagine. He put his Son on the cross for our sins, so we can be in Heaven with Him.

God is Omnipotent: God has infinite power and all things are possible for Him. God designed everything in his mind, and spoke it into existence. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together. (Colossians  1:17)

God Is Omniscient: God is all knowing, he knows us better than we know ourselves and he knows every detail of our life. He knows what we will be facing in our future, and Christ will guide us through based on our ability and Christ’s power in us.

God Is Omnipresent: The Spirit of God is everywhere and when we see the world through the eyes of God, we can sense his presence everywhere.

God Is Glorious: God is beautiful beyond words and so is Heaven. God lives in perfect light where no darkness exists.

When we know God in our hearts and his attributes, our faith increases and we feel secure in his hands. We give God all the glory because when we know his attributes, we eagerly put our life in the hands of Christ. Knowing the divine attributes of God enables us to see ourselves in comparison to God, and we never again lean on our own understanding.

Today: Meditate on the attributes God so they reside in your heart, and notice the change in your relationship with Christ. The more we know God the more we live in his power.

Prayer:  Lord fill my heart with your greatness so I will always depend on you in everything I do, and give you all the glory and thanks.  In Jesus name, Amen
