The Kingdom Within Us
The coming of the kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is in your midst.”Luke 17:20-21
The Lord brings a touch of Heaven to us via the indwelling of the Holy Spirit which reveals the character of God. We strive to have our soul living in the Kingdom, one with the Spirit, while our flesh lives in the world. We can continue to do this through the power of God, but Satan is always trying to pull our soul back into the world.
If we interface to the world through the Spirit then our soul is living in the Kingdom. We take everything to the Lord and respond through the Spirit with Godly wisdom. This is our goal, and the more we trust the Lord the more we are in the Spirit. The more we slow down inside and practice processing everything through the Spirit, the more it becomes natural.
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. (Philippians 1:6) The Lord makes it possible for us to live in the Spirit, and he releases his power in us to achieve things we cannot achieve on our own. If we pray for our soul to live in the Spirit and strive for it, the Lord will make it happen.
When our soul is one with the Spirit, we reap the blessings from the Spirit. The Lord desires that we trust him so we can walk with peace and joy and overcome fear and worry. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. (Matthew 11:28-30)
Today try and keep your thoughts on the Lord and rely on the Holy Spirit for Godly wisdom. Trust the Lord, know he is with you and he will keep your soul at rest. Live today with peace and joy as the Lord guides you through your day.
Prayer: Lord, help me to live in the Kingdom by keeping my thoughts on you. Guide me in the Spirit today to walk in your wisdom with peace and joy. In Jesus name, Amen
