Keep Spiritually Growing

Posted on

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.”

Matthew 5:6

Spiritual growth is continuous to our last breath. We can always learn more from the Word of God, we can always get closer to the Lord, fellowship with other Christians, and there is no end to witnessing to people. All these result in Spiritual growth, and increases God’s love in our hearts.

For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. (Romans 8:29) Once we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, we are predestined to have the mind and heart of Jesus, and this is a lifelong process, because we will never have the exact mind and heart of Jesus, but we are always becoming more like Jesus.

Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!” (Matthew 4:19) Jesus is saying this verse to us, that we should always fish for people, and we pray for the Lord to lead us to fish for people. Witnessing to people results in spiritual growth, because the Lord fills our heart with more of his love which increases our motivation. And we are learning more about people and how to minister to them as we are guided by Christ.

Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Colossians 3:2) Our spiritual growth includes changes in our thoughts; less about the world and more about things of God. Life becomes more about doing God’s will and witnessing to people, as it becomes the priority in our life. Our thoughts will increasingly change to things of God, his Word, and helping others.

When both our conscious and unconscious mind is directed to God and others, we are living in the Kingdom.  People will not say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or, ‘There it is!’ because God’s kingdom is within you.” (Luke 17:21) When our thoughts guide us to the Kingdom, we remain close to Christ and we receive blessings that continuously feed our soul. Spiritual growth is the process of seeking to be closer to Christ.

Today seek to keep your thoughts connected to Christ, and seek his guidance in all things. God is willing to guide you through life with his love, wisdom, and his blessings.

Prayer:  Lord guide me to be closer to you, and always help me to grow spiritually. In Jesus name, Amen
