Jesus Tells About End-Times (Part 1)
Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming I am the Christ.”Matthew 24:4-5
This is the first statement by Jesus in answering the question from his apostles; Tell us, when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age? (Matthew 24:3) It’s easy to be deceived by Satan’s lies if we don’t know God’s Truth. Satan is telling lies that Christianity is the problem with the world, and he uses his deception within the Christian church by twisting scripture.
You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. (Matthew 24:6-7) How many wars has there been in your lifetime? The following major wars have occurred in my life: World War II, Korean War, Vietnam war, Desert Storm, and currently war on Terrorism. And there are currently rumors of wars and nation against nation.
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famine and earth quakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains. (Matthew 12:7-8) Currently there are many nations against Israel and in the last days the world will be against Israel which represents all God’s people in the world. “In a world where we produce enough food to feed everyone,– one in nine still go to bed on an empty stomach each night.” (Word Hunger Statistics – Food Aid Foundation) Famine is occurring in various places in the world, and has increased due to the pandemic. Approximately 30 earthquakes of level 6 or higher have occurred in the world in the last 90 days. Earthquakes and famine go together because earthquakes can cause famine.
But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. (Matthew 24:13) We live in victory in Christ knowing Heaven is our home and we don’t live in fear. We tell the world about the love of Christ and the eternal life he promises. Always pray for the saints and for lost souls, and for opportunities to reflect the good news of Christ.
Today notice the world situation in your local area and in the world, but pick your source of information, because there are sources that are controlled in what they reveal in the news, and how they reveal the news. Pray and seek the truth through God’s people.
Prayer: Lord, guide me to be a Light for Christ, no matter what is happening in the world. Help me to do everything for your glory and to be eternally minded. In Jesus name, Amen
