Jesus, a Humble Servant

Posted on

Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death — even death on a cross!

Philippians 2:6-8

Jesus was secure because He is God, and we are secure because our identity is in Christ. It is important that we know we are in the family of God, and Christ lives in us through the Spirit, and our self-worth comes from Christ, and there is no self-worth in this world that has a higher identity.

In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: (Philippians 2:5) We are secure in Christ which gives us the desire to be a humble servant Christ, and it’s a blessing to be a servant to everyone, representing Christ to them. We are secure in Christ when our hearts are filled with divine love from God, because love frees us from self and our life is now about serving Christ and others.

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them: male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27) The reason Christians enjoy being a humble servant is because we are created in the image of God, and God is molding us to the mind and heart of Christ. When we live the way God created us, we will the life to the full. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10)

Satan has deceived most of the world, where people are self-centered and live to satisfy their temporary fleshly desires. They are molded by Satan to live opposite to how they were created to live.  God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble. (James 4:6) Everyone who doesn’t know the Word and have not accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior, will be considered prideful, because they are living for self and not for God.

Today live for Christ and be a secure humble servant. Be still inside and walk with God’s love and wisdom, and know Christ is with you.

Prayer:  Lord guide me to be a secure humble servant, and increase the desire in my heart to serve others. In Jesus name. Amen.
