Impossible for God to Lie
God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged.
Hebrews 6:18
Knowing that it is impossible for God to lie gives us great hope in his Word and his promises. We trust God, his ways, and his timing for his promises to come true, and often they come true over time through our obedience to his divine will. He molds us to the mind of Christ and by this process he answers many of his promises. But there are promises that he answers immediately especially when we are ministering to others.
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) Knowing God cannot lie is another fact that can help us to have stronger faith. We know God’s promises are true and that increases our faith to trust God’s answer and his timing. If God fulfilled his promises based on our understanding, then we would miss God’s blessings.
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. (Psalm 145:3) We cannot fathom God’s greatness and his love for us; therefore, it is important to trust his thoughts and ways. Even though we cannot fully understand God’s thoughts and ways, we can fully trust him because he is God and he has infinite understanding, wisdom, and love.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10) It’s our faith knowing God cannot lie, that we can fully trust God’s promise given to us in Isaiah 41:10. With eternity in our hearts and the faith that pleases God, we can live with a heart of love, peace, and joy even in the worst of times.
Today, remember it is impossible for God to lie and pray in his promises. Let this increase your faith because God is pleased and blesses those that trust his ways and his timing. Today, trust the Lord fully by depending on him and on his divine guidance.
Prayer: Lord, I know it is impossible for you to lie and that will increase my faith in your perfect ways. Guide me live as your servant and fully trust and depend on you. Thank you for another day to serve you, to point lost souls to Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen
