Imagine Life with Perfect Faith

Posted on

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

Isaiah 26:3

If we had perfect faith would we worry about anything? If we had perfect faith would we be dependent on the Lord and live perfectly free in Christ as his servants? If we had perfect faith would we have perfect surrender, perfect peace, and perfect lives to the full? These are a few things I can imagine with perfect faith. Take a few minutes and imagine your life if you could have perfect faith.

With perfect faith we would believe all of God’s promises and know without any doubt that God is faithful. God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord (1 Corinthians 1:9). We would pray for whatever the Spirit puts on our hearts and be perfectly confident in God’s answer and his timing. We would understand that his ways are always flawless, over and above our own understanding. We would have truly thankful hearts because of our perfect faith in a perfect God.

We have security in Christ with perfect peace, living in his love, peace, and joy. A perfect faith would create a desire in us to share with the world how they can experience fantastic lives living in Christ. Through perfect faith fear from Satan would disappear from our minds, and be replaced with God’s love. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love (1 John 4:18).

Perfect faith would drive us to live by the Spirit and we would desperately seek His guidance. We would live in the Word and in prayer so we could obey the Lord and walk in his perfect will. Perfect faith would open our hearts to seek the Lord, to know him and to have a perfect relationship with him. Seeking to be with the Father and the Son, experiencing an ever closer relationship with them, would be the driving force in our Christian lives.

We can see how faith is the driving force for a fulfilling, Christian life. This faith comes from seeking to know the Lord and having a closer relationship with Him. Now devote your heart and soul to seeking the Lord your God (1 Chronicles 22:19). The closer we are to the Lord, the more our hearts are filled with his love, and the more faith we have.

The truth is we cannot have perfect faith, but we can always have more faith. We can strive for perfect faith, driven by the knowledge that our lives would be enhanced through it. How much faith can we have and how fulfilling and freeing can our lives become?   We can always have more faith if we strive for it, pray for it, and live by it.

Today, take every opportunity to live by faith. When life gets fearful and there is a mountain in front of you, go to the Lord, knowing your faith will increase, you will draw closer to Christ, and you will be continually molded into His image. Know that you are saved by faith and only through faith can we please God. Our faith indicates that we know Him. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him (Hebrews 11:6).

Let’s Pray: Lord, increase my faith more each day, and guide me through the Spirit to walk in obedience to your perfect will. Help me to step off the throne and to trust you completely with my life. Thank you Lord that you are willing to guide my life in your perfect will, perfect love, and perfect power. There is no way I can be worthy of what Christ has done for me through the cross. All I can do is surrender my life to Him and I need your divine help each day to surrender. I know that the more I surrender, the more Christ sets me free from bondage to the world. Thank you Lord! In Jesus’ name, Amen
