I Can Do all Things through Christ

Posted on

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:13

Paul said he can do all things through the strength he got from Christ. The term “all things” sounds only possible when it is the Lord’s will. This verse implies that the Lord will enable us to do whatever he guides us to do through the Holy Spirit. This is where our faith is needed, because in our own strength we cannot achieve all the Lord has planned for us.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, (Proverbs 3:5). This verse is telling us to obey the Lord by trusting his will, and not leaning on our own understanding. Satan will try and stop us from doing the Lord’s will through fear, the time it takes, or the work required.

It took faith for Moses to confront Pharaoh of Egypt and led the Israelites through the desert for forty years. It took faith for David to stand up to Goliath. It takes strong faith for us to step out into the unknown and serve the Lord. But just as the Lord was with Moses and with David, he is also with us. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

The Lord is pleased when we trust him, knowing he is with us and we step out and serve him to the best of our ability. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:33) When we seek to put the Lord first in our lives, he is pleased and eager to guide us and strengthen us to his will. The more motivated we are to serve the Lord, shows we trust him and eager to help others through the Spirit’s guidance. We show our love for the Lord by reflecting his love and his compassion to others.

Today, know you can do everything the Lord calls you to do through his guidance and strength. Set aside fear from Satan and replace it with trust in the Lord. When called to do the Lord’s will, don’t replace it with your will.

Prayer: Lord, help me to do all things through your strength, all things you guide me to do. Don’t let Satan put any thoughts in my mind that will keep me from serving you. In Jesus’ name, Amen
