Have Confidence in God’s Plan

Posted on

I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus

Philippians 1:6

God has a unique plan for everyone that has accepted Christ as their Savior and Lord. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11) We learn about the Lord’s plan for us as we follow the Spirit, and pray that we continue to follow his divine plan. We live each day praying that we fulfill his plan by being Christ-like and following the Spirit. I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me. (Psalm 57:2)

We live each day serving the Lord fulfilling the plan he has for us, and this gives us a divine purpose for our lives. Just as Jesus came to Earth and lived as a man, serving the purpose of the Father — showing us how to live and taking our sins to the cross, we also have a divine purpose for our life on earth. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Ephesians 2:10) Living our life, fulfilling the plan God prepared in advance for us will become the most meaningful and most desirable thing in our hearts. It will consume our lives.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) The Lord’s plan for us is based on the unique way he created us which means we are created for the plan he has for us. As we fulfill his plan, it is a perfect match for our personality and abilities, motivating us to continue living God’s plan because we are living life to the full. When living God’s plan for us, life is exciting and rewarding.

Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors and his body decayed. (Acts 13:36) Just as Moses, David, and Paul, fulfilled God’s plan in their life, all people that serve the Lord, by following his plan, will fulfill God’s purpose in their generation. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.(2 Timothy 4:7-8) We go through life doing our best to live God’s plan, and there is in store for us a crown of righteousness. We can be secure knowing that we take our last breath only when the Lord says we have finished the race.

Today, know you are living for the Lord carrying out his divine plan. You may not know his long-term plan but live each day following the Spirit and being Christ-like. Live one day at a time and as life goes by God’s plan will unfold. Remember the plan the Lord has for you is just as important as his plan was for Moses, for David, for the apostle Paul, or for anyone else in all creation. Your life today is extremely important to the Lord.

Prayer: Lord, guide me in the Spirit today to live according to plan. Help me to be Christ-like in thought, word, and action, so I can be a light in this darkening world. Give me your strength and courage to fight Satan and minister to misguided souls. In Jesus’ name, Amen
