The Greatest Blessing – Jesus!
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:19
There is no greater blessing in all creation that is better than knowing Jesus! We are created to be with Christ and through the indwelling Holy Spirit we can become one with Christ. This means we will continually to be closer to the Lord until our last breath when we step into eternity with Christ and the father.
So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Genesis 1:27). We are all created in the image of God, and the best possible life we can live only occurs when we live the way we are created. God is molding us to the mind of Christ so we conform to the image of his Son. This is a process that lasts till our last breath which means life continues to get better as we become more Christ-like. We become more Christ-like by following the Spirit ministering to the world, studying the Word, prayer, and Christian fellowship.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) The Lord brings life to the full while Satan comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Satan is the father of lies and he continually tempts our fleshly desires toward short-term sinful behavior. His goal is have us live by our self-centered fleshly desires because he knows that if we turn to God he will satisfy our soul which can satisfy our flesh. Satan knows the Lord can give us life to the full, that he tries to keep us busy, addicted, and satisfying our fleshly desires. Satan is delighted when continually yield to his fleshly temptations because he has taken our eternal life away from God.
But we have victory over Satan, because when accept Christ as our Savior and the Holy Spirit enters us, and we now have power over Satan. You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. (1 John 4:4) We have victory over Satan and the Spirit fills our heart with love, peace, and joy. We have faith in the Lord because we know his perfect love for us and that he will carry his servants through life, overcoming anything that comes in our path. Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4)
The Lord blesses us with freedom from the world. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) The only true freedom we can experience in this world is from Jesus, because he sets us free from bondage to the world. Fear goes away and his love fills our heart as we minister to people in this lost and dying world, knowing Heaven is our home.
Today live knowing Jesus is the greatest blessing; he took our sins to the cross, forgives our sins, fills us with his Spirit, and carries us through life as his servant. This is the most fulfilling life we can possible have on the planet.
Prayer: Lord thank you saving me and carrying me through life as your servant. Fill my heart with your love, peace, and joy so I can reflect it to others. In Jesus name, Amen
