God’s Love is Our Security

Posted on

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.

1 John 4:7

The more we live to tell the world of God’s love and salvation through Christ, the more we will know God and the closer we will be to him. When we serve the Lord, we live in the Word and in prayer, which brings even closer to the Lord.  And the closer we are to the Lord the more we depend on him for everything, and the more secure we become in Christ.

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. (1 John 4:18) When our hearts are filled with God’s unconditional love, fear diminishes because God’s love drives out Satan’s fear. With our hearts filled with God’s love we know the Lord and we are secure. Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7)

The more we know the Lord the more we desire to be with him in Heaven. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21) The apostle Paul was very close to the Lord and it was gain for him to die in the flesh so he could be with Christ. The closer we are to the Lord the more eternally minded we become, because we desire to be with the Lord. We overcome the fear of death to our flesh, because our spirit leaves this body and we can be with Christ.

No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. (1 John 4:12) God loves us and his love fills our hearts, and our spirit draws us closer to the Lord than to the world. The world cannot touch our spirit, and we live in the security of Christ.  We live for our eternal soul, with our hearts focused on our Heavenly home, living with the Father and the Son.

For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. (Psalm 61:3) The world is becoming the enemy to Christians, but the Lord is our strong tower against them. He protects our soul from the evil one and we have his power to overcome all of Satan’s temptations. Christians can be secure that God will protect our soul for eternal life. Nothing in this world can take us out for his righteous right hand. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10)

Today live for your eternal soul, and fear not because man can only kill our temporary flesh. God protects our eternal soul, because it is our soul that goes to Heaven with our new younger body that never ages.

Prayer:  Lord guide me in the Spirit and fill my heart with your love. Draw me closer to you so I can be secure. In Jesus name, Amen
