God’s Faithfulness

Posted on

The Rock! His work is perfect, For all His ways are just; A God of faithfulness and without injustice, Righteous and upright is He

Deuteronomy 32:4

If God were unfaithful in his promises, would we be able to trust him? We could not trust or worship God if he were not faithful, yet there are Christians who pray with doubts in their hearts. Does trusting a faithful loving God mean that all our prayers are answered according our will and our time? Understanding that God is faithful is to understand he is God and we’re not god.

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:8-9) If God answered all our prayers according to our will, wouldn’t we be limiting God? We know God is faithful and we trust him because he is God, and his divine will is perfect and his love is perfect. We will never understand all the ways of God this side of eternity. The fact that we cannot understand all the ways of God actually increases our faith and motivates us to serve him.

The Word says we are saved by faith and we cannot please God without faith. And we cannot have faith unless we know God is one hundred percent faithful. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8) And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) When we accept in our hearts that God is faithful, we reap a new level of peace that transcends understanding. We gladly give God control and we live with rest for our souls as his servants. Giving God control is an attitude of the heart; we strive to follow his guidance through the Spirit, and we relinquish trying to control the outcome. Giving God control means we give God our best in everything we do, and the outcome is no longer in our hands, it’s in his hands. This freedom in Christ is impossible unless we believe without doubt, that God is faithful.

Today remember the Lord is faithful and that you can trust him completely. Give the Lord your best in everything you do today, and pray for his guidance and help. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. (Colossians 3:22) Notice how life is more peaceful and secure when we give control to God. Remember his love, his infinite love, and the care he has for you. See God walking next to you leading you with his loving wisdom and power.

Let’s Pray: Lord, thank you for walking with me and guiding me through life with your love and wisdom. Help me to always seek you and to become one with you and live for your purpose through the divine will you have for my life. Lord my heart surrenders to your faithfulness, knowing I can always trust you. In Jesus name, Amen
