Godliness in the Last Days

Posted on

Children, it is the last hour, and as you have heard that antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have come. Therefore, we know that it is the last hour.

1 John 2:18

Satan is in full force in the last days, and his goal is to pull people away from God, by turning the world against seeking God, and bringing evil into the world. We can see today the world is turning away from God and persecuting Christians. But God is in total control, and he is waiting till everyone has a chance to know the truth from the Word of God.  And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:14)

Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons. (1 Timothy 4:1) Satan is the great deceiver and he has deceived the world with his lies, and he seeks to get footholds in the lives of Christians. To overcome Satan’s deceptions, we need to be held accountable by our Church family, and we must live by the Word putting Christ first in all things.

Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold. (Matthew 24:12) Many people that don’t know God, there love will grow cold as they become self-centered. But for Christians, as the world becomes increasing evil, we reflect the love of God, because we are to bring people to Christ. How can we bring people to Christ without a heart of love that cares about all people?

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 6:12) Our enemy is not people our enemy is Satan. There is no room in our hearts for hatred of people, our hatred is sin. Christ showed love to his last breath, and that is what Christians will do. As Satan increases evil in the world, we reflect more love through the power of Christ.

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. (Matthew 10:28) The world cannot touch us because life is in our spiritual soul; it’s our personality, thoughts, and will. If our love grows cold and we hate sinful people, the world has destroyed our soul and eternal life. Our struggle is against Satan and his evil, and when we see evil or hear about evil, our hatred of sin increases.

Today reflect God’s love in everything you do, and when you see or hear evil, pray for God’s power and goodness.

Prayer: Lord never let my love grow cold but let your love in my heart get stronger every day, and guide me to reflect your love to the world. In Jesus name, Amen
