God Never Changes

Posted on

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Hebrews 13:8

God is our judge and he never changes, he is the same yesterday, today, and forever. People can justify anything, but we cannot change God and his Word.  We are judged by the Word, and no matter what we believe we can never change God’s judgment.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; (Proverbs 3:5) If we change God’s Word to please ourselves or to please someone else, it is the ultimate of leaning our own understanding. We must trust God and his Word because God never changes.

When we justify changing God’s Word to suit our desire, we are moving to the broad road of destruction. There are churches that change the Word of God to meet their desires thinking God will approve. They are wrong because the Word of God is our judge and we cannot change it, because God never changes. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. (Revelations 19:13) When Christ returns, he is called the Word of God, because we are being judged by the Word, and any belief that we justify that is against the Word, will determine the outcome of our judgment.

Most people including many Christians go through their days with little or no thought of eternity. He has also set eternity in the human heart. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)  A devote Christian lives each day for eternity, strictly obeying the Word of God through the Lord’s power. If we don’t live each day for eternity then are will living each day for this short earthly life? Our own justification can be the thing that can destroy our eternal life, and ignoring the Truth doesn’t make it go away.

Satan will try to have us justify something that is against God’s Word, because he knows how God will judge us.  For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. (James 2:10) If we choose to ignore one command, we are guilty of all.  All of God’s commands are necessary to conform to the image of God’s Son. All commands work together, and if we choose not to obey one command, then we are incomplete.

Today make sure you are seeking to obey all of God’s commands, and ask the Lord for his divine power to help you obey. It’s difficult to obey the Lord’s commands when our hearts are not filled with God’s divine love. This is where we need faith to keep obeying the Lords commands even if it’s not our desire, but God will fill our hearts with his love as we continue to obey his Word. With a heart filled with God’s love, the Lord’s commands will become the desire of our hearts.

Prayer:  Lord guide me in your Word, and keep from not obeying no matter what happens in this world. In Jesus name, Amen
