God Knows Our Thoughts
The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.
Genesis 6:5
God knows our every thought, and our thoughts reveals the true person to God. We cannot hide anything from God because He knows us better than we know our self, and he knows what we need to become more like Christ.
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. (Colossians 3:2) We are created in the image of God, which means we are created to keep our thoughts on things above. We do this by being totally dependent on Christ, and communing with Him during the day. We depend on the Lord’s help in everything we do, and we reflect Christ in everything we do, even when we are alone.
The more we control our thoughts, and more we depend on Christ, the closer we will be to Christ with more peace and joy. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. (Isaiah 55:8) We depend on Christ because He is God, where everything is possible, and He knows what we need more we can imagine.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9) God’s thoughts and ways are above our ways and thoughts, and that is why we have total faith and dependence on God for everything in life. The Father and the Son love us more than anyone on the planet and they want to guide us down the narrow road into Heaven. How can we not fully surrender our life to the Lord?
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) When we give are life to Christ, He sets us free, and we are free indeed. There is no freedom in the world that compares to the freedom that comes from God.
Today keep your thoughts on things above, and commune with the Lord in everything you think, say, and do.
