God is Sovereign
O Lord, God of our fathers, are you not God in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. In your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you.
2 Chronicles 20:6
Everything is under God’s control, yet he gives us free will to choose Christ or choose the world. Knowing that God is in control gives us comfort as the world gets more evil in the last days. We are in the Lord’s family and we minister to lost souls until Christ returns to take us home.
Knowing God is sovereign and heaven is our home gives us a heart for lost and misguided souls. In the last days, we have an opportune time to minister to this world because many people are searching to understand why the world is changing. We can tell people what is happening in the world from scripture and that God is sovereign. But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. (1 Peter 3:15) We are always ready to reveal the hope we have in Christ – knowing heaven is our home.
Christians know the events coming in the future from the book of Revelations. We don’t know the exact time of these events but we recognize them when they occur, and we know that future events are to come. We know the objectives of Satan, and we know the plan of God from now to the end of time. We have a divine understanding from the Word which gives us understanding of the world. The unbelieving world does not have this knowledge and it is a prime time to reveal God’s truth. If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (John 8:31-32) When we bring the truth to lost souls, Christ will set them free from Satan’s lies and the fear and anger Satan puts in their hearts.
Today, remember that God is sovereign, that we are in his family, and that we live with victory in Christ deep in our hearts. Today, be a light in this world, bringing God’s truth to lost souls so they can be free in Christ. Remember the Lord is with you and will guide your every step through the Holy Spirit — you are never alone.
Prayer: Lord, help me to be confident in Christ knowing you are sovereign over this world. Help me to live in the promise of eternal life. Guide me to be a light for Christ so people can be free and no longer slaves to Satan’s lies. In Jesus’ name, Amen
