God is Our Judge

Posted on

For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; it is he who will save us.

Isaiah 33:22

Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment. (Hebrews 9:27) We will all face judgment from God that determines our eternal destination. Therefore, it is important to examine our life and to monitor our thoughts, words, and actions from God’s Word. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. (Revelation 19:13)  Christ is called Word of God meaning his judgment is based on his Word and his robe appearing as dipped in blood means salvation only comes through Christ because he took our sins to the cross and intercedes for us to the Father.

It is a blessing that we have the Word for it identifies how we are judged. We cannot accurately judge ourselves because we are all biased and we cannot judge ourselves by comparing our self to others. Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time each will receive their praise from God. (1 Corinthians 4:5) God’s judgment is based on our spiritual heart because it reveals everything about us.

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. (Proverbs 4:23) Our spiritual heart is revealed by our thoughts, and we evaluate God’s judgment from the Word in terms of our hearts and not from our works. God is looking for those who serve him motivated by his love in our hearts.

If you love me, keep my commands. (John 14:15) Love increases in our hearts as we continue to keep his commands.  Love is what motivates to serve the Lord and love enables us to know the Lord. God’s love in our hearts makes us more Christ-like because love is what changes our hearts to put our Lord and others first. Love gives us the power to overcome Satan’s temptations and changes our heart where things of God are more interesting and fulfilling than things of world.

Today, know that God is our judge and we compare our heart to the heart of Jesus. The Word is extremely important because it reveals how God judges the world. Know God’s judgment from the Word understood from a Godly perspective.

Prayer:  Lord, guide me to understand you more by obeying your commands with a heart filled with your love. Help me know your Word from your understanding. In Jesus name, Amen
