God is in Control
Whatever the Lord pleases, He does, In heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps.
Psalm 135:6
God created everything that exists and he is in control of everything. We look at this world and we see violence, evil, wars, natural disasters, and a world where Satan is trying to drive people away from God. It appears we live in a world that is out of control. But the reality is that even though He has given us free will, God is in complete control.
The Lord does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths. (Psalm 135:6). The Lord is the creator and can do whatever He pleases. What pleases him the most is to bless and protect his family of believers and to bring them home to live in Heaven with him forever. He has saved us and called us to a holy life–not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time. (2 Timothy 1:9) The Lord has sacrificed his Son to cleanse us of our sins and to offer forgiveness. God loves us more than we can imagine. He is in complete control of this world, especially when caring for his people.
Our faith comes from understanding God through reading His Word, knowing Him by obeying the Word, and knowing He is in total control of this world, including Satan and his demons. God’s people are victorious, no matter how the world views Christians. Regardless of how the world treats Christians, we remain victorious. But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. (Hebrews 10:39) We stand strong in the power of God because we have overcome the world and we know to our last breath that we have victory. We live in the power of God! You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. (1 John 4:4)
Today, live knowing God is in control. He has the power to lead you through life into Heaven. His power in you overcomes the world and there is nothing this world can do that will separate you from God’s love and his power to care for you. Today, walk in confidence because God’s love, compassion, care, and his infinite power are with you.
Let’s pray: Lord, thank you for always being with me and enabling me through your love, strength, and power to overcome the world. Take away any thoughts of fear from Satan and crush it with your love and sovereign power. Let me feel perfectly secure knowing you are the creator of all things. You are in control of everything and I can depend on you to carry me through life as I strive to follow the Spirit and be a light for Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
