God Gives us Power over Satan

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Ephesians 6:12

Our struggle is against Satan and his lies and deceptions, and not against people. That is why God gives us power over Satan and his demons. We have the power of God within us to overcome any temptation that comes from Satan.

But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one. (2 Thessalonians 3:3) We are protected from the evil one and we cannot be tempted beyond what we cannot escape. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. (1 Corinthians 10:13) These two verses are promises of God, and we can escape all of Satan’s temptation, but we fight the battle between our will and God’s will.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20) Paul considered himself dead to his own will and strived to live by Christs will. If we seek to obey the Lord’s perfect will, and dead to our sinful will, we can be victorious. We have to find our escape, reading to the Word for selected scriptures, changing the environment, praying, and calling on the Lord for his strength.  When tempted we can ask our self, “My will or God’s will”?

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. (1 John 4:4) Christ is with us through the Holy Spirit, and if we call on Christ for his divine strength, we will have victory over Satan; because Christ has infinite power over Satan.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20) We need to depend on the power of Christ in us, and learn to live in His divine power and wisdom. We have divine power of Christ to overcome Satan, but our enemy is our will verses God’s will.

Today know you have the divine power of God, and call on Christ whenever Satan attacks your thoughts and emotions.

Prayer: Father I put all my faith in you to overcome Satan’s evil temptations and to live in victory. In Jesus name, Amen
