God Comforts His People

Posted on

“Sing, O heavens! Be joyful, O earth! And break out in singing, O mountains! For the LORD has comforted His people, and will have mercy on His afflicted.”

Isaiah 49:13

Nothing is more comforting than the comfort we receive from God. The Lord’s comfort, through the Spirit, will continuously feed our soul and the comfort will increase as we get closer to the Lord. We are comforted, through our faith, receiving his love, hope, peace, joy, and security.

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7) Love in our hearts enables us to have a close relationship with the Lord.  The closer and more loving relationship we have with Christ, the more comfort we receive because it is impossible to be close to the Lord without being filled with his love, hope, and comfort.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13) Our hope is in Christ which will comfort us. Our hope is from knowing we are never alone because Christ is with us.  He guides us through the Spirit and fills us with hope knowing Heaven is our home. When we take our last breath, the door is open to eternal life with the Father and the Son. If we are unsure about our Heavenly life, it will be difficult to be comforted by God.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23) The fruit of the Spirit is necessary for us to receive comfort.  How can we have comfort without peace and joy? We are able to receive comfort when our faith pleases the Lord and the Spirit fills our soul with love, peace, and joy. We now live with our hope and security in Christ, and with our soul filled love, peace, and joy. We are filled with comfort from the Lord.

Today, live knowing Christ is with you and live with the Lord’s comfort as you depend on the Lord to guide through the day. Show the world the comfort you have from the Lord’s love, peace, and joy.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for filling my soul with your comfort, love, peace, joy, security, and enabling me to reflect these blessings to everyone. May I never let Satan put fear in my mind, but may I live with your comfort in my heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen
