God Changes Our Hearts

Posted on

The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.

1 Samuel 16:7

The Lord judges us by our hearts, because our hearts tell everything about us. We live out of our hearts because our hearts are our deep beliefs, and it reveals our thoughts and our motivation to do the will of God. God new the thoughts of the people just before he flooded the earth. The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. (Genesis6:5) The Lord knows our thoughts, and he know us better than we know ourselves.

Therefore, we should guard our hearts by guarding our thoughts. And we should pray that the Lord changes our hearts, by following the Spirit. Our hearts change as we serve Christ being a Light to the world, bringing Christ to everyone. But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked. (Luke 6:35) We show love to everyone because all who don’t know Christ have been deceived by Satan. There is no room in our hearts for hatred of people, but we have plenty of room for the hatred of sin.

Our heart must be pleasing to God, and our heart must be filled with God’s love to make us like Jesus.  For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son. (Romans 8:29) For all who accept Christ as their Savior, are predestined to conform to the image of his Son; and how we can do this without a heart filled with God’s love? Love in our hearts come from God over time as we bring Christ to people; by teaching classes, one on one conversations, handing our Christian literature, inviting people to church, handing out Bibles, and through prayer. The Lord has a task for every Christian to be Light for Christ, based on the talents God had given them.

Our hearts change and become pleasing to God, when we bring Christ to people. This is what Christians are created to do, and it will become the most rewarding thing in life, as God’s love fills our hearts. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31) When God fills our hearts with his divine love, our hearts are now pleasing to God, and we are changed forever.

Today, Lord guide me to do your will and change my heart to be pleasing to you. Help me to capture every thought to make it obedient to your will.

Prayer:  Lord, change me to be more like Jesus, with a heart of love. In Jesus name, Amen
