Go Toward the Light

Posted on

This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.

1 John 1:5

The verse above is telling us that God is perfect, and he uses all his attributes to protect his family through life and guides us into Heaven. When we know God and his perfect love and power, how can we not fully trust him?  Imagine travelling on the narrow road to Heaven, and seeing the bright Light of God at the end of the road, and each day see yourself moving a little closer to the Light.

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. (1 John 1:7) If we see our self as walking toward the Light, then we have forgiveness of sin, and we fellowship with all those in God’s family. When we live to serve Christ, fellowship with other Christians, and we walk toward the Light, we want see Satan who walks in the dark.

The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:5) Light takes away darkness, but darkness cannot take away light. We go toward the Light as we move down the narrow road, and Satan has no power over us. Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21) We overcome evil by walking toward the Light that shines on us from the end of the narrow road.

I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. (John 8:12). If we follow Christ down the narrow road to Heaven, we will never walk in darkness, but we have the light of life.  The Light brings life to our soul, and as we get closer to the Light of God, the better life gets, and the Light of Christ is seen in us. Getting closer to the Light and the end of the narrow road, means we are getting closer to the Father and the Son.

Today picture the Light of God shining on you from the end of the narrow road. Stay on the narrow road and stay way from the broad road of darkness, where their no direction to Heaven.

Prayer:  Lord help me to see your Light at the end of the narrow road, and guide me each day to be a little closer to the Light. In Jesus name, Amen
