Give it to God

Posted on

Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Matthew 19:26

When we pray do we realize that all things are possible for God, or do we limit our expectations from God based on our own limitations? When we pray do we trust the Lord and put our prayers in his hands, or do we continue to worry. Things in our life are always better when we step off the throne and put them in God’s hands. We then ask God to guide us as his servants, because our obedience is necessary to fulfill God’s divine plan.

Satan wants us to worry because he knows worry can cause doubt in our faith. Worry tends to bring control back into our hands, thinking we need to do something to resolve the situation. Faith is giving it to God and trusting him whatever the outcome, and trusting his perfect love. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) If we turn this scripture around, we can say that nothing pleases God more than our faith. If we give it to God with faith that doesn’t waiver depending on the outcome, but continue trusting the Lord by walking in obedience, then we will reap his reward for us. The reward of victory over the tribulation, peace and confidence in the tribulation, or maybe he takes us home to our final eternal reward.

I know it’s hard to stop worry when tragic news occurs, but with prayer from the heart, we say to the Lord, “I will trust you Lord and I put this into your hands,” and note the comfort received from the Lord. You have stepped off the throne and put things in the hands of the Lord, knowing all things are possible. So pray big, don’t limit God but pray for miracles.

When we give it to God and truly trust him, our life changes. We have more peace and joy, and we reflect more of his love to others, because we are living more in the Spirit and less in the world. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (Matthew 11:29) Walk in obedience to the Lord’s will as his servant and reap rest for your soul, because God is in control guiding us in his love and wisdom.

Today, give it to God and let him guide you with his love, wisdom, and power. Walk in obedience to the Lord as his servant, and reap the reward of victory. You have now stepped off the throne and allowed God grace to flow into your life. Also note the freedom in Christ knowing all things are possible for God, and you are assured he will guide you through every challenge in life.

Prayer: Help me to trust you with my life, and to guide me as your servant. Help me to gain the freedom that comes from giving you control and walk in your divine wisdom. Thank you for your love, for guiding me through life, and for the eternal home waiting for me. In Jesus name, Amen
