Give God the Glory

Posted on

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

1 Corinthians 10:31

Whatever we do, we do it for the glory of God. Our life is a worship to God which means we live to serve Christ. Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. (Colossians 3:23-24) This verse describes being servant of Christ, and we give God the glory which comes from a thankful heart.

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:28-29) Our life is a worship to God with reverence and awe. We must recognize God as the great I am.  He is above everything that exists, and we must approach him with the utmost love, respect, and obedience.  For the kingdom is the Lord’s, and He rules over the nations. (Psalm 22:28) God is the ultimate authority over all the nations and all creation. God is the final judge for eternal life for all who ever lived. Those who give glory to God will live forever with the Father and the Son.

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) Life to the full comes those who have a close relationship with Christ and give glory to God. Through a heart of love, we come to know God and recognize his greatness. Yours, Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all. (1 Chronicles 29:11) We are called to be the Lord’s servant and we must recognize the Father and the Son for their greatness and power, and do everything to bring glory to God.

If we give glory to God, we will be blessed by being totally dependent on Him for everything. Without Christ, our life is meaningless and no eternal life would exist. When Christ leads our life, we have life to the full with divine meaning, and Heaven is our eternal home. Only Christ can guide us through life and into Heaven; we cannot guide ourselves through life and be a light on a hill.

Today, give glory to God for everything with a thankful heart. Live this day serving Christ because it will bring glory to God and fill your heart with joy.

Prayer:  Lord, guide me in the Spirit to always give you the glory. Help me to be a servant of Christ by following the Spirit.  In Jesus’ name, Amen.
