Give God Your Fear

Posted on

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4: 6-7

This promise from God is telling us that he can take away our fearful anxious moments and give us peace that transcends understanding. What do we have to do to receive this peace and what kind of peace is it that transcends understanding?

The source of this peace comes from God, meaning it does not come from the world. God fills the believer with his Spirit, the person of the Holy Spirit who brings us God’s love and peace. The closer we are to the Lord, through prayer, reading his Word, fellowship with other Christians, and obeying his good, pleasing, and perfect will, the more peace our soul will have. We read scripture with faith knowing God will give us peace.

Whenever I feel anxious I go to God and say, “Lord I give you my fear. I will walk in peace today as you guide me through each step.” This is walking with Godly wisdom letting the Lord guide us through the day making Godly choices, knowing he will lead us through every situation in life.

Today try to walk in the peace that transcends understanding even if the world around you is in turmoil. Give your anxious, impatience, fearful moments to the Lord in prayer, and trust the Lord to guide you through your day with peace and confidence. All things are possible for God and his love for you is perfect. Perfect love cast out fear. (1 John 4:18). The Lord loves you perfectly, and to walk according to his Word is to walk in his love

Prayer: Lord, help me to walk in peace today. Take away any anxious, fearful, angry moments from me and fill me with your love and peace. Open my heart and mind for your divine guidance, helping me to walk in your wisdom as I go through the trials of this day. Thank you for your perfect love for me and the promise of eternal life. Today Lord, increase my trust in you. In Jesus name I pray, Amen
