Give God Your Best
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving
ossians 3:23-24
Scripture tells us to do everything with all our hearts, which means we are to give our best in everything we do. Whether we are driving, working, ministering to others, or teaching a class, we are to do our best; then our lives become a service to the Lord.
Whatever we do, let it be worship to the Lord with a thankful heart. If we take this attitude then by doing our best in all things, we show our love and thankfulness to the Lord. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3:17)
When the Lord sees we are doing our best, then he is anxious to help us. If we are striving to overcome a sinful habit, calling on the Lord and refusing to give up, the Lord sees our struggles and answers our prayers with his love and divine power. But if we are not seriously fighting the sin, then how do we think the Lord will respond to our prayers? If we seek to do everything with a Christ-centered heart, then we are seeking the Lord knowing that he will respond to help. The Spirit’s guidance is essential when ministering to the world, and the more our hearts are into ministering, the more the Spirit will guide our thoughts and words.
So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. (1 Corinthians 10:31) Everything we do, we do for the glory of God. All of God’s people should be the best workers, driven to complete the task to the best of their abilities. This is showing Christ-like behavior and gives evidence that we are truly Christians and not just exhibiting Godly talk. What kind of example do we give when we refuse to do the work, see the work as beneath our standards, give little effort on a task, or complain about doing a task?
Developing the habit and patience to give our best in all we do gives us a feeling of satisfaction. We work patiently, confidently, and methodically to the best of our abilities and reap success when we seek the Lord’s help.
Today give your best in all you do because you are serving the Lord and giving glory to God. The Lord is not pleased when those in his family aren’t giving their best. Be patient in everything and ask for the Lord’s help, his wisdom, and divine power. Remember when you seek to give your best, the Lord is always there with you, to guide and help you through his divine love.
Let’s pray: Lord, help me to always give you my best, because everything I do in this life reflects Christ. Be with me today as I seek to give you my best, because I cannot give you my best without the Spirit’s guidance. I can do nothing without Christ. Thank you Lord for being with me through the Holy Spirit. In Jesus name, Amen
