Follow the Spirit

Posted on

For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.

Romans 8:14

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (John 16:13) The Spirit speaks only what he hears, meaning Christ speaks to us through the Spirit and we speak to Christ through the Spirit. Christ speaks to us by planting thoughts in our minds, and by changing the desire if our hearts.  If we are still inside, we will notice new thoughts or an uncomfortable feeling about our choice. But we must be still and ask the Lord for the guidance we need.

I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. (Galatians 2:20) This verse describes the life that we are created to live, Christ living in us through the Spirit and guiding us through life. We are now walking with divine power and Godly wisdom given to us by Christ.  We are no longer slaves to the world but we are now free in Christ.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. (Galatians 5:1) When we give our life to Christ, and let him guide us through life; we are free in Christ because we are controlled by God and not by the world. Only Christ can give us true freedom, because divine freedom originates from God.

The Lord wants to guide us through the Spirit, and if we strive to hear the Spirit and pray for God’s divine power, we will soon start recognizing new thoughts, and we will notice our feelings we have we are making a choice. The more we pray to hear the Spirit and the more we pray for the Lord’s divine power, the more we hear the Spirit.

Today follow the Spirit by being still inside and listening to your thoughts. The more we practice being still, and the more we know the language of God (the Word), the better we can hear.

Prayer:  Lord help me to hear the Spirit in my thoughts and in my heart. Remind me to always ask the Lord for any choice I make.  In Jesus name, Amen
