Fill the New Year with Peace and Joy
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 13:8
It’s a New Year, so make a resolution that will bring you divine peace and joy all year. Peace and joy are from the Lord through the Spirit directly into our souls. Therefore, our peace and joy doesn’t depend on the world situation. My resolution is to become more like Christ through ministry, prayer, studying the Word, and meditating every day! If I do this every day, the Lord will fill my heart with peace and joy. It is impossible not to be filled with peace and joy as we get closer to the Lord.
We are fortunate that the Lord never changes because He is perfect in every way. We can become more like Him if we pray for his divine help and guidance. The closer we are to the Lord, the more peace and joy we can have in 2021 because the Lord’s divine love in our hearts enables us to overcome the world. Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4)
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. (1 John 4:18) When our hearts know God’s love, there is no room for Satan’s fear. God’s love and Satan’s fear cannot coexist in our hearts. We can walk through the new year with Christ as He guides us with his love, strength, wisdom, and without fear from Satan.
Whatever resolution you make, be sure it will bring you peace and joy from Christ and let the resolution bring you closer to the Lord. The peace and joy from the Lord will become stronger all throughout 2021 because we are getting closer to the Lord. The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth. (Psalm 145:18 NKJV)
Today, make a resolution that will bring you increasing peace and joy all through 2021, independent from whatever happens in the world. Seek to be closer to the Lord as he fills your soul with his love, peace, and joy. The closer you are to the Lord, the less influence the world has on you.
Prayer: Lord, fill my soul with peace and joy as I go through this new year. Draw me closer to you so your love, peace, and joy will increase all throughout the year. Guide me to show the world the love, peace, and joy, that comes from You, and not from this world. In Jesus’ name, Amen
