Fight the Good Fight
Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
1 Timothy 6:12
We fight the good fight in this fallen world and we are assured victory in Christ. We walk with the armor of God and we fight with the almighty power of God that works within us. Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20).
Satan attacks us trying to take away our victorious attitude, especially in times like we are experiencing today. Whenever there are trials and tribulations in the world that tend to make us fearful or angry, take stake of these emotions and blame Satan. We fight Satan through the power of God, and we expect victory. This will help us to be stronger, spiritual warriors.
The true fight is against Satan because his goal is to steal souls away from God. His tactics are filling people with his lies about God and his lies temporarily satisfy our fleshly desires. Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. (Romans 8:5) The key to the spiritual fight is to control our thoughts by setting our minds on what the Spirit desires. A strong spiritual warrior is someone that stays calm and seeks the power from God.
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. (John 14:27) The peace we experience doesn’t come from the world; it a divine peace that comes from God through the Holy Spirit that lives in the believer. We have the power of God within us to overcome the world and live with peace and hope in Christ.
No matter what happens in this world or to us, we have won the fight and we live with victory in Christ because Heaven is our home. Eternal life is the real victory and 1 Timothy 6:12 says we take hold of eternal life. The power of God is anchored on knowing he will return and destroy all evil and take us to our Heavenly home.
Today, fight the good fight and overcome Satan’s evil in this world. Live in victory knowing that through Christ you can overcome the world. Live with the power of the Lord within you and live with a heart for victory in Christ.
Prayer: Lord, I will live this day and win the fight. Satan and the world no longer have the power to control my thoughts and my emotions. My power comes from You and I choose to live in the promise of victory in Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen
