Fight Satan with God’s Power

The righteous cry and the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.” Just a reminder that God is all we need to overcome spiritual attacks.

Psalm 34:17

The only way we overcome Satan’s attacks and his evil, is through the power of God who has total control of Satan and his demons. In our own strength we have no power over the evil spiritual forces, but we call on the Lord for his divine power with faith of being victorious.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us. (Ephesians 3:20) We have the power of God available to us, and with faith we can overcome the world.  A Christian has a heart that wants to be perfect, and we can strive toward perfection if we truly depend on the Lord and know his love; then we can overcome Satan’s temptation, even if it’s our own sinful desire.

The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace. (Psalm 29:11) Christians are the most powerful people on the planet because we have the power and love of God, and Heaven in our home. Christ is always with us, guiding us with his love, wisdom, and strength. If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:26) This verse tells us that our love for God is compared to our love for family, is considered as hate. When our hearts are filled with God’s love, he is more important to us than anyone, including self. The more love we have in our hearts, the more we hate sin and evil, because hearts of love is the foundation of being like Jesus.

We fight Satan with truth because Satan is lies. Satan is the father of lies, and hates God’s truth and he hates people with hearts filled with God’s love. Satan knows the Father has given us power over him, therefore he tries to deceive us, and tempt us in our own sinful desires. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. (2 Corinthians 10:4) We fight this spiritual war with God’s infinite power, and we will have victory, if we immediately call on God’s power when tempted by Satan.

Today capture any sinful thoughts and call on God’s power, and call on scriptures. Know that the power of God will always bring us victory, unless we choose to entertain a sinful thought.

Prayer:  Help me to hate all sin, and to call on you immediately to destroy any sinful thoughts and emotions. In Jesus name, Amen
