Fight Satan, Not People

Posted on

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

Ephesians 6:12

Our war is not against flesh and blood (people); it’s against rulers and authorities in the dark world driven by spiritual forces of evil (Satan). Satan seeks souls that do not know Christ and recruits them for his evil work. God gives Christians the task to battle Satan in his attempt to steal souls for eternity. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age (Matthew 28:19-20)

Christians are spiritual warriors trained by God to fight Satan’s temptations. We have the wisdom and divine power to overcome Satan. He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. It is important to fight Satan’s evil activities in this world because the more influence Satan has the more souls will follow his evil ways. For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith (1 John 5:4). Christians in unity have the power to fight Satan’s evil activities in the world and to be victorious in Christ. But if they fail to fight this spiritual war, Satan will win, and will recruit many lost souls. The true battle for Christians is to point souls to God while Satan tries to point souls away from God.

I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought (1 Corinthians 11:10) Imagine the power the church could have if all Christians united and let the light of Christ shine throughout the community! God gives his divine power to fight the spiritual war in every arena: in the church, in the community, and in our government. In the church Christians strive for accountability to assure that we remain centered in Christ. In the community, we minister to as many lost souls as we can find. Finally, Christians do their best to put Godly people in positions of leadership of local and national government. We have to fight to save lost souls with more motivation than Satan has to destroy them, and this takes lots of prayer and Godly activity.

Today fight Satan by being a light for Christ every minute of the day, especially around lost souls. Pray for every lost soul you encounter and reflect kindness and a caring heart. This is how we fight Satan, fighting for lost souls.

Let’s Pray: Lord, help me to fight this spiritual war today and not to fight people. Give me the courage, the desire, and the words to touch the hearts of lost souls with your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen
