The fear of the Lord leads to life, So that one may sleep satisfied, untouched by evil.

Proverbs 19:23

Not everyone understands what it means to fear the Lord, but it means the utmost respect. We should fear his judgment because it determines our eternal life, therefore we do everything to please God. The Bible tells how to live our life so it is pleasing to the Lord, and we have forgiveness because we cannot be perfect living is this worldly flesh. Fortunately, the Lord looks at our hearts, and in a Christians heart we want be perfect and we strive to be perfect, and when we fail, we have Godly sorrow and we ask for forgiveness and divine power to overcome.

The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them. (Psalm 25:14) Those who fear the Lord seek to obey his divine will every day, because we know He is our judge of for eternal life, and its fear that drives us to obey his Word so we will be pleasing to Him. A true Christian has a great desire to be in Heaven with the Father and the Son, and we pray that the Lord keeps changing us, to make us more like Jesus with our hearts filled with divine love.

Let all the earth fear the Lord; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him! (Psalm 33:8) Fear is to stand in awe of the Lord and to see Him as the almighty God that created Heaven and earth and every living thing. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:9) The ways and thoughts of God are so far above us we can’t even imagine. Who are we to question God and his ways, because he knows us and our life better than we know, and he guides us through life infinitely better than we could ever guide our self. That is why we fully trust his ways over our ways, because we fear the Lord.

If we perfectly fear the Lord, we will have perfect faith. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. (1 Corinthians 13:13) Faith is born out of love, and when our hearts are filled with God’s love, then we know God and our faith will be pleasing to Him. Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7) When are hearts are filled with God’s love, then we will know God because God is love, and we fear God with great respect.

Today fear God for he judges everything we do, and he is our final judge. Live today to please God if everything you think, say, and do.

Prayer:  Lord, help me to fear You with the upmost respect, and to surrender my life to You. In Jesus name, Amen
