Faith Without Doubt

Posted on

But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.

James 1:6-7

When we pray with doubt it shows we don’t trust God with all our heart. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6) When we lean on our own understanding it means we really don’t know God, his love, wisdom, and power.

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) It is important that our faith pleases God because faith shows that we know God and trust his ways over our ways. God knows us better than we know ourselves and he knows exactly what is happening in our life, therefore his answer to pray and his guidance of our life is perfect.

If we trust God completely, his will over our will, we will experience great peace because we have put our life in the hands of God, just as Jesus put his life in hands of the Father. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13) We experience divine joy and peace when have faith to put our life in the hands of the Lord. This is how we were created to live, full dependence on God, living to serve Christ. This is how we live life to full and how we overcome the world.

Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do. (James 1:8) When we doubt God, he says we are unstable in all we do. That’s because we depend on self when our faith should depend on God. When we depend on God we become totally relaxed because we trust the Lord. And his guidance. Faith without doubt is a great blessing, it’s like the weight of the world off our shoulders.

Today fully trust God in all things, and live this day serving Christ. If your faith is pleasing to God, your day will be centered on serving Christ, and you will have blessed day.

Prayer:  I pray my faith is pleasing to you and if not change me. I desire to depend on you in everything. In Jesus name, Amen
