Eternal Future Glory

Posted on

I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.

Romans 8:18

We can endure this world at end times because we anxiously await our Heavenly reward, living forever with the Father and the Son. Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. (James 4:14) In the world today, we don’t know what will happen tomorrow, but we know this life is temporary like a vapor. We live each day for our eternal future glory to be revealed in our Heavenly home, and the Lord will guide us through this earthly life to our eternal home.

But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. (Romans 8:25) We live with the secure hope in eternal life, and we wait patiently for the Lord’s return to take us home. Knowing this promise and living for this promise gives us great endurance in this world. We wait patiently and we live as a light on a hill.

Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. (Romans 8:23) We are filled with the Spirit who guides us to serve the Lord which draws us closer to the Father and the Son.  We are eagerly waiting for the glory of our Heavenly home and our new eternal, perfect bodies.  We wait patiently because we need time to bring people to Christ.

While we live to bring people to Christ with a powerful desire to be with Father and the Son, we can be certain of the Lord’s power to overcome the evil in this world. Christ’s greatest victory was his resurrection after paying the debt for our sins on the cross. Our greatest victory is living for Christ to our last breath. Christ is the Light at the end of the narrow road of life, and the Light appears closer every day. Our soul lives in the Kingdom which is within us, and keeps us close to the Lord. We overcome the world because our soul lives in the Kingdom while our flesh lives in the world. Our soul is the life that lives in our fleshly suit.  When our suit wears out, our soul remains alive and we get a new perfect, eternal suit. We don’t live to please the temporary flesh, but we live to please God which pleases our eternal eternal soul.

Today, live for eternal life and be aware of the glory that awaits in Heaven. Focus on traveling down the narrow road of life guided by Christ through the Spirit. Remember the Lord lives in your spiritual heart and He greatly desires to guide you through life with his love, peace, joy, wisdom, and power.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your love and for your desire to be with me and guide me through life. I pray that I will always depend on you to reflect your love to everyone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
