Edit Your Life
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
Hebrews 12:1
Every Christian edits their life in an effort to throw off everything that hinders and sin that so entangles entangles us. Satan is always trying to place things in our life that habitually takes us away from fulfilling God’s good, pleasing and perfect will for us. Satan’s goal is to keep Christ from being priority in our life and to keep us from denying self.
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. (Colossians 3:17) The more we live doing everything for the glory of God the easier it will be to edit out things that have no eternal value. Anyone who does everything for the Lord has a heart that is motivated to live for Christ.
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. (Matthew 6:33) Satan will use things of the world to steal our time away from doing the Lord’s will. In our minds we know we should give the Lord priority in our life and in our minds we may see ourselves giving the Lord priority, but the critical question is how does God see us? We edit ourselves through pray and scripture with deep thoughts in our hearts to arrive at the truth and see ourselves through the eyes of God.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. (Jeremiah 29:13) If our hearts are focused on seeking the Lord, to have his presence in our life and guided by the spirit, we will find him. The Lord is looking for hearts that have edited out things that entangle us, things that keeps us a distance from the Lord.
Today edit you life and find things that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. Every Christian needs to periodically edit their life because it so easy to get entangle by putting self first.
Prayer: Lord, help me to edit out things in my life that are not pleasing to you. Guide me in the Spirit to put you first in my life. In Jesus name, Amen
