Don’t Love the World

Posted on

You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.

James 4:4

Friendship with the world is conforming to the pattern of the world. If we are governed by our flesh, which is part of the world, we will become an enemy of God. Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. (1 John 2:15) Anyone who loves the world more than God, are adulterous people.

He answered, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind’ and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Luke 10:27) If we truly love the Lord as described in this verse, our thoughts will be on things above because God is more fulfilling and rewarding than things of the world.  He continuously feeds our soul with divine blessings that are better than anything we find in the world. These divine blessings draw us closer to the Lord and away from the world.

God’s love grows in our hearts when we following the Holy Spirit to personality witness to people. Our hearts hurt for lost souls who live for their flesh and not for Christ. Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7) A heart of God’s unconditional makes us dependent on the Lord and enables us to know him because God is love. We will become closer to the Lord than we are to the world.

Satan is always tempting us by getting a foothold into our life, such that we make a worldly choice over a Godly choice; and he will use our emotions to drive us back into worldly choices. Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. (Romans 8:5) Our minds are set on what the Spirit desires, because we are spiritual people living for Christ. Our life is in the spirit and not in our flesh. Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. (Genesis 2:7) Life is in our soul and we live forever, and Heaven is our home.

Today love the Lord and don’t be friends with the sinful world.  Be holy, set apart from the world, but living to minister to the world.  Let the Spirit guide you through each day serving the Lord.

Prayer: Lord as the world gets more sinful toward the last days, help me to be Holy and not friends with the world. Keep my spirit, living in the kingdom while my flesh brings your Truth to world. In Jesus name, Amen
