Do not Conform to the World
Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.
Romans 12:2
It is easy for people to conform to the pattern of this world, because we live in this world, and we are seeing Churches becoming less Holy and conforming to the world. Christians should remain holy till there last breath. Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. (Hebrews 12:14)
And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world. (Revelations 12:9) Satan is the great deceiver and we can see his deceptions in people today, and he gets a foothold by having us slowly conform to the pattern of this world. Since we live in the flesh, Satan tempts us to live by our fleshly desires, which is conforming to the world. Virtually every temptation from Satan, tempts us to live by the worldly standards, and to become less Holy.
Everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. (1 John 5:4) We overcome the world by having God renew our minds, which takes time. As our minds are renewed, we will no longer be deceived by Satan and his lies, because we will know God’s truth from the Word.
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (James 1:22) When we obey the Word it becomes part of lur life. But if we just read the Word and close the bible, we will forget the Word because it never leaves short-term memory. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1:8) It is important to know the word so we will never be deceived by Satan.
Today be light for Christ and do not conform to the pattern of the world, but conform to the Spirit. Be Holy throughout the day, with patience and kindness.
Prayer: Father, keep from conforming to the world and guide by the Spirit. In Jesus name, Amen.
