Depend on the Lord
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Hebrews 11:6
How strong is our faith when we truly depend on the Lord for everything we do? We depend on the Lord because we are to reflect Christ at all times, even when we are alone. When we depend on Christ; He is with us and guiding us through every second of the day, and we are under control of the Spirit.
When we depend on the Lord for everything, it will help us to control our thoughts, words, and emotions; and to be controlled by the Spirit. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. (Romans 8:6-8) From this verse we are created to be controlled by Christ through the Spirit, and depending on Christ to help us to be governed by the Spirit.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6) We do not lean on our own understanding, but we trust and depend on the Lord to guide us through life. The Lord can guide us through life better than we can guide ourselves, because the Lord knows the future, and he knows us better than we know ourselves. It’s a great advantage to let God guide us through life, and He will make our paths straight, and we will have life to the full.
For we live by faith, not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7) Whatever happens in our life, we continue trusting the Lord to our last breath. The Lord will guide us through life down the narrow road to Heaven; and that takes priority in this short earthly life. Having faith and depending on the Lord is the way we are created to live, because we are created in the image of God; and Christ guides us to live in the image of God.
Today depend on the Lord for everything, and reflect Christ with a caring heart. We are in a war with Satan and his deceptions, and we fight with God’s love and truth.
Prayer: Father, help me to always depend on Christ in everything I think, speak, and do; So I can become the person you created me to become. In Jesus name, Amen
